Kama Sutra

Vātsyāyana

€25

Vātsyāyana’s meticulous guide to the art of love and the mastery of human senses is often reduced to a glorified sex manual in the popular imagination. But as the author himself reminds us in his concluding remarks, it “is not intended to be used merely as an instrument for satisfying our desires.” Instead, the work must be regarded as a comprehensive guide to virtuous living and to the art of love. Whilst the various sexual positions described in part two will surely arouse interest, it’s worth noting that Vātsyāyana recommends that the art of tattooing and teaching parrots and starlings to speak, also be studied alongside the Kama Sutra.
